Miami should be making preparations for these trades to go down this summer.

It’s conceivable that the Miami Heat will make it to the postseason once more, and who knows how far they can advance. There’s no telling what awaits them in the postseason after two consecutive deep runs, including an unlikely trip to the NBA Finals last season.

The Heat should be able to compete against any opponent thanks to Jimmy Butler’s star power, but Miami’s front staff obviously needs to improve moving ahead. Although this club does a great job in the postseason, they shouldn’t be ending the regular season in the play-in zone twice in a row.

As summer approaches, there are a few moves that the front office of the Heat should be getting ready for.

Trading Tyler Herro

Although many will laugh at this idea, Tyler Herro is more disposable than many supporters may think. Herro was the Sixth Man of the Year two seasons ago, but his unfortunate string of injuries has kept him off the court for extended periods of time.

Of course, the most significant was the postseason run the previous year. He went down with a fractured right hand in the first round game against Milwaukee, having played 19 minutes. Without him, the Heat managed to win three rounds of the playoffs.

While I’m not saying Miami should force him out of town, trading Herro is a possibility that needs to be taken into account. The Heat’s window for a championship won’t last forever, so they’ll need guys who can remain healthy for longer stretches
