New York Giants Draft pick Darius Muasau ready to compete in the Big Apple

NFL rookie minicamps are commencing across the league, welcoming draft picks and signees, including those hailing from Hawaii. One such player, a Mililani graduate and former Hawaii and UCLA linebacker, is preparing to embark on his journey to New York this week to join the Giants for their rookie minicamp.

Selected by Big Blue in the sixth round of last week’s NFL draft, the former Trojan is brimming with excitement since receiving the call, recognizing that this marks just the beginning of his journey.

“I’m still up here, but I got to bring it down pretty soon and get back to work,” Muasau shared with Hawaii News Now. “That’s the mindset that I have that I always grew up with.”

Muasau is eager to immerse himself in the organization and start competing from the get-go.

“I’m looking to compete, that’s the way I was built, I was always a competitor at heart,” Muasau affirmed. “So I’m just looking right when I step foot over there, I got a rookie mini camp, I’m just looking to improve myself every day, you know, just pick the brains of all the vets, all the coaches just trying to be the best version of myself.”

The Giants’ rookie minicamp is scheduled to kick off on May 10th.
