Done deal:United Strengthens Goalkeeping Department with A two year deal.
Dundee, Scotland – Dundee United has announced the signing of experienced goalkeeper Dave Richards from English League Two side Crewe Alexandra. The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, subject to international clearance.
Richards brings a wealth of knowledge to the Scottish Premiership outfit, having spent nine years at Crewe Alexandra. During his time at the Alexandra Stadium, he made over 200 appearances and established himself as a reliable shot-stopper.
Although he didn’t feature for St Johnstone during his loan spell last season, Richards’ experience and ability caught the eye of Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin. “Dave is a quality goalkeeper who will add significant strength to our squad,” Goodwin said. “His experience and leadership qualities will be invaluable in our quest for success.”
Richards will compete with young goalkeeper Jack Newman for the number one spot, providing a welcome boost to the team’s goalkeeping department. Dundee United fans will be eager to see the new signing in action, as the team looks to build on last season’s top-six finish.
The signing of Richards demonstrates Dundee United’s commitment to strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. With his experience and talent, Richards is expected to play a key role in the team’s push for success in the Scottish Premiership.
“I’m thrilled to join Dundee United and be a part of this exciting project,” Richards said. “I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the team’s success.”
