Just in: Giants Turn to Heliot Ramos in Center Field Amidst Injury Woes.

San Francisco, CA – In a move aimed at stabilizing their outfield, the San Francisco Giants are turning to top prospect Heliot Ramos in center field. The decision comes on the heels of Jung Hoo Lee’s season-ending injury and Luis Matos’ struggles at the position.

Ramos, 23, has only 16 innings of experience in center field, but manager Bob Melvin is confident in his abilities. “Heliot has the tools to excel in center field,” Melvin said. “His arm strength and speed are assets we need in the outfield.”

The Giants drafted Ramos as a center fielder in 2017, and he has since excelled in the corner outfield spots. His impressive performance in Triple-A Sacramento earned him a call-up earlier this season.
