Transfer News: Orlando Pirates chase super Eagles Goalkeeper

South African side, Orlando Pirates have joined the list of clubs interested in signing Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali. The Buccaneers are in the market for a new goalkeeper following the departure of Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane. Another South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs are also reportedly interested in the shot stopper.

There are also interests in Nwabali from Europe and Saudi Arabia.The 28-year-old remarkable performance for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has put him in the spotlight. His club, Chippa United have said they won’t stand his way once they receive a suitable offer.

The Frenchman won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, along with winning multiple other trophies for the Los Blancos.

He returned to Madrid in 2019 for two years and won the La Liga title and the Supercopa de Espana.

Zidane was recently asked to name the player who impressed him the most during his time as manager of the club.

He answered (via Madrid Xtra): “Players who impressed me the most as a coach? When you see Kroos, Modrić and Benzema playing for you for an hour without losing a single ball, that is football.”
