Just in: Giant veteran players Looking to Make an Impact on the Team.

The New York Giants are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 season, and they’re hoping their new rookies will be the key to their success. While last year’s team regressed due to both poor play and injury, the Giants are looking to their 2024 draft picks to help them return to the postseason.

Here are three Giants veterans whose roles will be pushed by rookies:

Theo Johnson vs. Daniel Bellinger

Just a year after acquiring Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller from the Las Vegas Raiders, the Giants find themselves with a hole at the tight end position due to Waller’s retirement. While Daniel Bellinger will likely continue to start for the Giants, rookie Theo Johnson will push him for the starting job. Johnson, a fourth-round pick from Penn State, is a massive athlete at 6-foot-6, weighing 259 pounds. Although he hasn’t quite put it all together yet, he has the physical gifts that you can’t teach, and he could become the new Darren Waller in Brian Daboll’s offense this year.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. vs. Devin Singletary

With Saquon Barkley no longer on the team, the Giants will be looking for a new running back. While Devin Singletary was brought in to be RB1, Tyrone Tracy Jr. might just beat him out for the job. Tracy, a sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, could be the Giants’ top back by Week 1.

Tyler Nubin vs. Dane Belton

Poor Dane Belton waited patiently behind safety Xavier McKinney for two seasons, playing in 32 games and starting just seven. But now that McKinney is out, the Giants drafted Minnesota S Tyler Nubin in Round 2 of the 2024 draft. Nubin, one of the best all-around safeties in the 2024 draft, is more versatile than Belton and a better ballhawk and playmaker. While Belton may get a chance early in camp to win the job, it’s likely that Nubin will be the starting safety alongside Jason Pinnock this season.

Overall, the Giants are looking to their rookies to help them get back to the postseason. With their strong 2024 draft, the team is hoping to return to the playoffs, and if these rookies can make an impact, they just might do it.
